Future Theme ideas
« on: January 05, 2014, 07:50:35 pm »
Does what it says on the tin-here you can discuss (surprise, surprise) Future Theme Ideas.
Thats pretty much it.  Here are my ideas.

A new space theme.  With more spaceships!!
A reboot of pirates, possibly with natives again.
some sort of theme like Creator Expert, but with old buildings (castles, roman arena etc)

Those are all of my idea's.

I would like to see more good, original LEGO themes. Really the only themes I have seen in recent years that have been original and good are Chima and Ninjago. Galaxy Squad was pretty good but there was no story whatsoever and the aliens were just strange.  ::) It seems that most themes these days are just made off of popular movies and franchises; though I am excited for the LEGO Minecraft sets.  8) I currently cannot think of any ideas, but when I do I'll be sure to post them. =D Nice topic BTW.

Not all themes have background stories like Ninjago and Chima, but I agree.  It would be nice to have more story themes.

I would absolutely love to see like an early nineteen hundreds theme. The cars, the old houses, the suits and classy styles, it would just be so cool. They have sets for advanced lego buiders but they require an advanced budget, I think it would be cool if they made really detailed and in depth sets that weren't quite 150.00. LIke maybe 70.00.
"Demons run when a good man goes to war. Night will fall and drown the sun, when a good man goes to war. Friendship lies and true love dies, when a good man goes to war. Demons run, but count the cost. The battle is won but the child is lost."~River Song, from Doctor Who Season Six.

I agree with this 100%  While the licensed themes look pretty damn cool, I wish Lego put a little more emphasis on making their own themes.
First thing that came to mind for me was a new Western/Cowboy reboot but The Lone Ranger had to hijack that idea.

I would like a Roman/Greek theme where soldiers either battle another empire and/or fight agains the gods.  The story can be a retelling of ancient history or LEGO could go "all fantasy" and add mythology into the mix.  Sets could include temples, a colosseum, forts, the usual catapults and wagons, etc.

Yeah, that would be pretty awesome. But knowing LEGO they would probably base it off of the Percy Jackson movies or something.  ::)

My thoughts exactly. I'm not sure if LEGO would make that a theme though. :-\
